About Me

Hi, I'm Maria Lukowich! With a background in Food Research & Development, I bring a unique perspective to web and software development.

In 2024, I graduated from the BrainStation Software Engineering Bootcamp. It was an intense 3 month journey, where I learnt a lot about JavaScript, React, Node.js, MySql, and more. I also got to work on a team project where I worked on a full-stack application. Since completing the bootcamp, I have been working on my own projects, learning new technologies, and collaborating with others.

Recently, I completed the makeitMVP Launch Program as a Software Developer. I worked in a cross-functional team, using React, Firebase, and Shadcn to create a feature that allows users to post their projects and portfolios and receive feedback from experienced developers or designers.

Creative Portfolios: Showcasing Your Work - Webinar

Hosted: February 21, 2025

I hosted a webinar in collaboration with the Frontend Queens to share tips and strategies on how to effectively showcase your work in a creative portfolio. The Frontend Queens are a community focused on empowering and elevating women in the tech industry, offering mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities for frontend developers.

My presentation focused on the importance of building a personal brand as a developer and provided practical advice on creating a standout personal and GitHub profile.

Software Developer at makeitMVP Launch Program

Completed: March, 2025

Led the initial sprint, managed Jira tickets, and organized weekly standups while maintaining front and backend repositories for a client feedback platform supporting new grads.
Built features using React, ShadUI/Tailwind, SASS, and Firebase, focusing on user-friendly interfaces.
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop a platform where developers can showcase portfolios, receive feedback, and interact through features like Boosts and tag filtering.
Key project features included a notification system and personalized feedback tagging to help users find relevant projects.
